DON'T PHOTOGRAPH ME!

Oh my god, what did I post last night? I don't even remember writing any of that...

As I lay here now on my bed in a sarong I have causually fashioned into a dress, I do not wonder why I am puzzled by masculinity. Yet it still somewhat intrigues me, possibly because it is something I was meant to achieve but haven't, or maybe because it is, in truth, utterly absurd. Take for instance this photo which first inspired my mini project:

Why would a man sit naked on whatever that vehicle is called? Is he showing off his toy or his body? Is it to show his obvious physical excitement while riding it? This picture is staged and intentional, which at first seems a bit... creepy, but his facial expression, tattoos, and those sneakers (is he planning to drive it away naked?) add some sort of charm to this picture that I couldn't ignore. Oh but he is not alone. Apparently there are tons of pictures with men and their vehicles:

And of course trucks, which seems to require only the flashing of the penis-- is this to emphasize the relationship of man to truck, or maybe referencing truck-stop prostitution?

Then there's an even more bizarre sub-genre of "man-with-some seemingly important life object":

Here's "Dan" decked out in his favorite Harley t-shirt showing off this year's Christmas tree (insert "package" jokes). Perhaps a picture exists somewhere of him naked on his motorcycle. This seems probable.

Not only does he have luxurious locks of hair, but this man is also a king on drums. Looking at it now this isn't really a strong depiction of traditional masculinity, but come on LOOK AT THAT PICTURE. He even shaved for this.

And thus we come to this. Is he trying to further intimidate us by sticking his erect penis out of his military pants? Well anyway the ties of guns to the phallus are obvious, but just in case you weren't sure, this guy has made it perfectly clear.
